Bengaluru, Aug 28: As the state governor turned down the request of the government to issue an ordinance to protect officers who had joined government services by committing irregularities in the 1998 Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC), the state government has published list of 383 officials selected by KPSC. In the selection process conducted afresh as per the directions of the high court, 65 officials have been reverted. Those reverted include nine IAS officers. At the same times time, 46 people will get promotions.
The government, realizing the seriousness of the issue after the state high court cracked the whip, had published the revised selection list of KPSC during January this year. For the 1998 batch, examination had been conducted for 383 posts. On account of examination irregularities, 46 persons who have got more marks, are getting promotions. 19 are likely to be continued in their current positions while the other 27 have been redeployed. 65 would be reverted. Out of the remaining four officers, there are no changes in the marks obtained by them but as per the revised list, their posts would shuffled.
Those who were promoted to IAS cadre on the basis of marks obtained, and whose revised mark list shows that they had actually scored less, are being reverted. Their names of Basavarajendra, Vasantkumar, Kavita Mannikeri, Rishabhendramurthy, Karigouda, H N Gpalakroshna, Shivananda Kapasi, Meena Nagarj, and P N Raveendra.
Karigouda, Vasantkumar, and Rishabghabhendramurthy would be reverted to the post of assistant controller, Meena Nagaraj and Basavarajendra would be reverted as assistant commissioner for commercial tax department, Gopalakrishna will be made tahsildar, Kavita Mannigeri will become assistant commissioner for commercial taxes, while P N Raveendra would be made assistant commissioner.
The government has brought out a list of people posted to different positions including assistant commissioner, assistant controller and assistant commissioner in commercial taxes department.
