Bangalore, Jun 28: Liquor in the state is all likely to cost more. The government on Saturday June 27 has hiked the annual licence fee for bars and restaurants as well as retail wine shops.
According to the revised rates, retail shops have to pay Rs 3 lac and bars and restaurants Rs 3.2 lakh for renewal of licenses from the current financial year. The rates are applicable to shops and bars and restaurants in town panchayats, town municipality limits and rural areas.
The ban on arrack has led to increase in the business for the wine shops, which has led the government to hike the licence fee.
