Mangaluru: Scholarship distribution, motivation programme held by BSK

Mangaluru, Aug 23: Billava Sangha Kuwait (BSK) is into the fourth year of education programme for the less privileged deserving students of the community.

In true spirit to Brahma Shree Narayana Guru’s message 'Education Liberates Oneself', in 2016, BSK initiated the scholarship education programme in association with Shree Guru Charitable Trust, Surathkal, Mangaluru.

This year's scholarship distribution and motivation programme was recently held at Shree Vishwanatha Kalyana Mantapa (Glass House), Shree Gokarnanatha Kshetra, Kudroli, Mangaluru.

Krishna S Poojary, president of Billava Sangha Kuwait inaugurated the programme by lighting a lamp along with other dignitaries followed by a prayer.

Guests H S Sairam, president, Shree Gokarnanatha Kshethra, Kudroli; Ln M Shekar Poojary, president, Lions Club, Mangaluru; Shekar P, headmaster, Dr TMA Pai High School, Kallianpur; Shylendra Y Suvarna, president, Shree Guru Charitable Trust, Surathkal; Raghav D Poojary, general secretary, Billava Sangha Kuwait and Jayalakshmi Vishwas, cultural secretary, Billava Sangha Kuwait graced the occasion.



Chandrasekhar Nanil, former president, Shree Guru Charitable Trust, Surathkal welcomed the distinguished guests and the gathering. Krishna S Poojary spoke on the occasion and thanked Shree Guru Charitable Trust for making this education programme a reality with their extensive survey work.

Raghav D Poojary on behalf of Billava Sangha Kuwait informed about the various programmes conducted in Kuwait.

Ln Shekar Poojary, in his speech praised Shree Guru Charitable Trust for their charity work towards education and also thanked Billava Sangha Kuwait for joining hands with Sri Guru Charitable Trust.

Shekar P in his speech motivated the students to work hard and to never lose hope. He thanked Billava Sangha Kuwait members for involving their parents and relatives in India in this scholarship distribution programme.

Shylendra Y Suvarna in his speech thanked Billava Sangha Kuwait and had an interactive session with the students raising their spirits high. He stressed the need of imparting discipline in the students along with education so that misuse of the youth can be stopped and also the next generation shall be able to take up the community with strong and disciplined leadership qualities. He urged the community members to work for the upliftment of the community.

Some students spoke thanking Billava Sangha Kuwait and Shree Guru Charitable Trust for the assistance they got for their education.

Scholarship amount was distributed among 98 less privileged deserving students pursuing Post Graduation, Engineering, Diploma, Law, Degree, Pre-University and Trade courses. Scholarships were distributed by the guests on the dais, BSK members and other dignitaries.

Earlier in the morning, members of Billava Sangha Kuwait and Shree Guru Charitable Trust had a small counselling session and motivated the students. Education programme 2019 was beautifully hosted by Durga Prakadhini and concluded with vote of thanks by Jayalakshmi Vishwas, cultural secretary, Billava Sangha Kuwait.

Billava Sangha Kuwait is carrying out this education programme inline with its slogan 'The Proud Associates of the Education for the deprived and committed to empower people with knowledge and quality life'.
