Mangaluru: Konkani Accreditation Day held at Lourdes Central School

Mangaluru, Aug 23: “As Konkani is our native language, we should always use it and strive for its progress. The development of a language is possible in this manner,” said Lourdes Central School convener Fr Wilson Vitus D’Souza. He addressed a gathering after presiding over the celebration of Konkani Accreditation Day termed as ‘Konkani Manyata Divas’ in Konkani.

School principal Fr Robert D’ Souza called on students to buy Konkani newspapers and books and work to uplift the language. Winners in competitions held for students as part of the programme were presented prizes.

Vice principal Belita Mascarenhas and Konkani teacher Ivan Mascarenhas were on the dais.

Students Elicia Baptist welcomed. Amith Colaco informed the importance of Konkani Manyata Divas. Raizel D’ Silva rendered vote of thanks. Adin D’ Costa compered the programme.
