Mangaluru: MRPL donates Rs 5 crore to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund

Mangaluru. Aug 23: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) contributed Rs 5 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund Natural Calamity.

The contribution was handed over to chief minister B S Yediyurappa by M Venkatesh, managing director, MRPL on August 21 at chief minister’s official residence ‘Krishna’ in the presence of Manjula C, chairperson, CSR & SD Committee and independent director, MRPL, B H V Prasad, GGM(HR), ministers, elected representatives of DK district.

Karnataka has witnessed unprecedented heavy rains resulting in floods and several districts have been affected. Many citizens have lost lives while lacs of people have been rendered homeless. MRPL, being one of the biggest industries in the state of Karnataka, has responded to the Chief Minister’s appeal to help in the relief and rehabilitation efforts by contributing this amount under its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.
