Udupi: Catholic Sabha, Diocese of Udupi donate Rs 40 Lac worth items towards flood relief

Udupi, Aug 23: Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh contributed more than Rs 40 lac worth of material to flood-affected areas of the state. The collected items were gathered at Mother of Sorrows church in the city on Thursday, August 22.

Fr Valerian Mendonca, Dean, Udupi Deanery, flagged off the vehicles carrying the goods.



All the parishes from Udupi Diocese contributed useful items like clothes, drinking water bottles, rice, daily use items, soaps, medicine, flour, cereals, biscuits, mats, cooking oil, water , tea powder etc. Catholic Sabha units of Udupi, Shirva, Kundapur, Karkala and Kallianpur deanary the items for this good cause. Gathered items will be delivered to flood-affected places tof Karwar, Shivamogga, Belagavi and Bijapur by Catholic sabha members themselves.

Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves, Director, Catholic sabha, Udupi Pradesh, Fr Romeo Lewis, Estate Manager, Udupi Diocese, Flavian D'Souza, Vice President, Catholic sabha, Udupi Pradesh, Santhosh Cornelio, Secretary, Catholic sabha, Udupi Pradesh, Valerian Fernandes , Alphonse D'Costa, former Presidents, office bearers Gregory P K D'Souza, Louis D'Souza, Ronald D’Almedia were present on the occasion.
