Kundapur: minister Kota Srinivas Poojary accorded grand welcome in his hometown

Kundapur, Aug 23: Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, who visited his home town for the first time after becoming minister in the newly formed cabinet of chief minister B S Yediyurappa was given a hearty welcome at Kota on Thursday, August 22.

After receiving the public welcome at Mabukala of Sastana, minister Srinivas Poojary visited Sri Gurunarasimha temple at Saligrama and offered prayers. Then as he was arriving to Kota, he was taken in grand procession from Kota bus stand to Amrutheshwari temple.

Speaking to the scribes, the minister said, “The Brahmavar sugar factory will be revived with the joint participation of state and central governments after verifying the issues faced by farmers for growing sugarcane, the loan that was given to them for the same, the benefits that need to be given to the employees of the factory by keeping in mind the leaders of farmers, cooperative sector and agricultural department.”

“I will take extreme interest with regards to providing houses to fishermen, sea erosion issue and diesel subsidy. With regards to subsidy, the demand is already placed with the CM by MLAs Raghupati Bhat and Lalaji Mendon and the subsidy is increased from 300 to 400 liters. In addition, we have the demand for county boats for subsidy on kerosene. The missing fishing boat Suvarna Tribhuja is unearthed due to the efforts of MLA Raghupati Bhat. There is a loan of Rs 25 lac on the boat. Our CM has got it repaid from the government. GST issue of fish mean, which is there since quite some time, will be resolved. I have seen the roof leakage issue of Mini Vidhana Soudha of the town in television. A detailed investigation will be done on the matter and report will be submitted to the government,” said Srinivas Poojary.

Responding to queries on the sand issue, the minister said, “Permit is given to extract sand from August 1. Accordingly, I have called various officers and conducted a meeting in this regard. I have given orders for the sand to reach properly to the required people. If no one approaches the court in this matter, the sand will be available unabated.”
