Bengaluru, Aug 22: The dissident MLAs who had toppled the coalition government in the state, are disheartened at the delay in the hearing of their petition questioning their disqualification by the assembly speaker that has been filed in Supreme Court. They plan to approach the Supreme Court again for the speedy disposal of the case.
The disqualified legislators along with Ramesh Jarkiholi have left for New Delhi. The Supreme Court had suggested to the petitioners to file an application with the court registrar seeking early hearing of their application. Therefore, they will be approaching the top court seeking to take up their application at an early date, through the advocates representing them.
It is said that these MLAs will try to meet BJP national president, Amit Shah, during this visit, to discuss their political future. For this purpose, they are accompanied by minister, Dr Ashwathnarayana and former minister, C P Yogeshwar, who are considered to be the architects of Operation Lotus.
They are likely to request the BJP top leadership to include them in the ministry if the case is disposed off early. Before leaving for Delhi, they held a meeting lead by C P Yogeshwar in the residence of Ramesh Jarkiholi.
