Mangaluru, Aug 21: A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team is likely to arrive here on Thursday August 21 to take into custody T Sam Peter, who reportedly deceived a number of people by claiming himself to be belonging to an intelligence agency of the central government, and then planned robbery.
Sam Peter faces several cases all over the country and the CCB had issued red corner notice for his arrest, by pronouncing him as the most wanted criminal. As it was believed that he had fled the country, searches were made abroad for him. The city police arrested him on August 16 when he was preparing plans for robbery at a lodge near Pumpwell here.
A CCB team from Bengaluru may also arrive here on Thursday. Maharashtra government too had declared him as a proclaimed offender. It is said that a case stands registered against him also in Udupi. It is gathered that he had collected huge sums of money from the owner of a lodge by promising to settle disputes between the lodge owner and owner of a building standing by its side. He used to stay in that lodge now and them, and for his convenience, some rooms of the lodge were renovated, it is learnt.
Peter also reportedly got several photographs clicked in the company of some police officers and dignitaries here.
