Panaji, Jun 22:
The congress party in Goa today admitted that few of its prominent leaders worked against its official candidate for the recent Lok Sabha poll.

“We have submitted a detailed report about detractors to the Party President Sonia Gandhi and the names of few prominent leaders also figure in it,” Shirodkar told during a press conference today.

“The report mentions facts and figures wherever people have worked against the party,” the GPCC President said.

The congress party that managed to add South Goa seat to its national tally was taken aback when its traditional margin of 50,000 votes was slashed to mere 10,000 in this constituency.

In the constituencies like Navelim represented by congress legislator Churchill Alemao, the party faired much poor giving edge to BJP.

Shirodkar said that the party would initiate action against detractors. “The action may come soon or may take time, it all depends upon the High Command,” he said.

The Goa Congress chief said that Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Prime minister Dr manmohan Singh has taken the report very seriously.
