Udupi: Officials confiscate boats with Kerala, Tamil Nadu registration numbers

Udupi, Aug 17: Police from Malpe coast guards and Malpe police station jointly confiscated two fishing boats with Kerala registration and one fishing boat with Tamil Nadu registration which had come for fishing at Malpe sea shore here on Saturday, August 17 and taken into custody fishermen in the boats.

The interstate fishing boats were brought to Malpe sea shore due to rough sea and storm. Police department and fisheries department did not find any ill motive while they verified the boat documents.

Therefore, fisheries department officials decided to take statement from the fishermen impose penalty and release the boats back to them.
