Mangalore, Jun 20: Local MLA U T Khader has expressed his gratefulness to chief minister B S Yedduprappa and in particular, municipalities and local bodies minister Balachandra Jarkiholi for approving of the underground drainage works in Ullal municipal limits and earmarking a sum of Rs 66 crore for the same. The approval was given by the government at the cabinet meeting held on Thursday June 18.
"I have been pursuing this issue since long and had submitted several memorandums. The government has positively responded now," Khader said. He asked the local people to bear with minor inconveniencies and problems they might come across at the time of execution of the underground works and to extend cooperation to the concerned, taking into its long term benefits.
Ullal municipal president Ismail, vice-president Dinesh Rai and standing commmittee president Basil D'Souza have also thanked Yeddyurappa and Balachandra Jarkiholi for releasing grants for the underground drainage project in Ullal.
