Mangaluru: KCO to disburse scholarships and financial assistance to NGOs on Aug 11

Mangaluru, Aug 8: Konkani Cultural Organization (KCO) Trust in association with Samanvaya, Mangaluru, would be disbursing educational scholarships and financial assistance to NGOs in a ceremony, to be held on August 11. This event will be held at St Joseph’s Inter-Diocesan Seminary’s Centenary Memorial hall in Jeppu, from 11:00 am onwards.

Fr Dr Praveen Martis, principal of St Aloysius College Mangaluru, will be the chief guest. The president and members of KCO Abu Dhabi will be present. KCO has invited all Mangalureans associated with KCO and its activities to be a part of the event.



Every year in the month of August, KCO supports deserving and needy students aspiring to continue their education after SSLC and PUC to pursue their careers. KCO has partnered with Samanvaya, an NGO which receives applications from these students through various sources and scrutinizes them. Selected students will be invited for the disbursement programme and scholarship cheques distributed to them directly in the presence of distinguished guests, KCO members and parents of the beneficiaries.

Since 2004, KCO is supporting this cause of education and more than 1400students have benefited through this scheme. This year, 45 students have been selected for the scholarship and 4 NGOs for their service towards society in various streams. The NGOs for this year are as follows:

• St Joseph's Prashant Nivas
• Jeevadhan
• Snehasadan
• Saanidhya

Other than educational scholarship and financial assistance, KCO financially supports people with critical medical diseases, mass wedding programmes and other socio-cultural activities through its KCO Trust. Currently, KCO is in its 24th year of existence ably led by its president CA Valerian Dalmaida.
