Karkala: Belman JCI holds scholarship distribution, talent awards programme

Karkala, Aug 7: "The beneficiaries of today should be the donors of tomorrow. The charity work done by the Belman JCI is appreciable. When the beneficiaries of today become the donors of tomorrow, the effort bears fruit," said P P Joseph, principal of St. Thomas College, Beltangady, who was the guest at the distribution of scholarship for students and talent awards programme organized by the Belman Jaycees Charitable Trust.

N Tukaram Shetty, president of the trust presided over the function and welcomed the gathering. Rs 1,35,000 was distributed as scholarship for 190 students from the 44 funds of the trust.

Raghavendra Karwal, secretary of Indian Jaycees zone 15, lauded the programme and wished the fund to grow further and more and more people get the benefit of the same.



Rajendra Bhat, former zonal president said that Belman Jaycees Charitable trust is the first in the history of Indian Jaycees. He congratulated Sharanya Shetty, who secured the first rank in the SSLC examination. Sharanya was felicitated on behalf of the trust.

A trust fund was founded in the name of late Belman Doddamane Srinivas Tantri by his wife and children. Dr Prakashatma and Belman Karamadka Ramachandra Rao increased the amount of the funds in their names.

JCI president Shweta Subhash, trust honorary president Jayant Rao P, secretary Anil Kumar, treasurer Ganapati Kamath, Youth JCI president Deekshit, Jayceerate president Pratibha N Rao were present on the dais.

The donors of the trust, former presidents, Jaycee zonal officers and teachers cooperated to make the programme a grand success. Sharanya and Ganesh thanked the trust on behalf of the beneficiaries. JCI secretary Sarita Dinesh rendered the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Ganapati Acharya.
