Puttur: Man electrocuted when charging cellphone

Puttur, Aug 6: In an incident which happened on Monday August 5 evening at Kolakke in Nekkilady village near Uppinangady, a person who was trying charge the battery of his cellphone, was electrocuted.

The deceased has been identified as Laxman Gowda (50) from Kolakke. On Monday evening, he connected his cellphone to an electrical point for charging. He instantly suffered electric shocks and got tossed away forcefully. His family members immediately took him to a private hospital at Uppinangady, but by then he had lost his life. He was later shifted to the government hospital here for post-mortem.

A case of unnatural death in this connection was registered in Uppinangady police station.
