Udupi, Aug 5: Prachya Sanchaya Samshodhana Kendra here launched its 'Green India Vision' and 'Pachchevana Siri campaign' programme at the mini hall of Poorna Prajna College here on Sunday, August 4.
The programme was organized in association with National Trust for Computation and Archival of Oriental media'. Green India Vision provides a great team to achieve the objective along with Post graduation History division at PPC College.
Dr D B Naik, vice chancellor, Janapada University, inaugurated the programme. He said that, ‘Janapada (Folk) is a basic source for the literature. Unless there is no folk, there is no legacy. But it is difficult to start up in a new way. Earlier, folk people are used to respect nature and there was a bonding between the man and the nature. But due to Industrialization, everything is being destroyed, he lamented.
"Now-a-days, we go against the nature, it will take revenge. We have seeing flood everywhere, but it is all about man created disaster," he added.
"In the technology era, people do not respect our nature deserves. If there is no legacy, there is no life. Let’s adopt some points from legacy, which is close to reality. Indian values are losing their relevance in the name of modernization. Human beings must cultivate and develop human values among others. Today’s children are becoming mechanical in thoughts and in their ways of life. Culture, legacy etc are still alive in villages but not in cities. Let us preserve our rich legacy and cultivate it for the better future," D B Naik called upon the people.
Prof S A Krishnaiah, describing the Pacchevana Siri campaign, said that, 'Palmyra is an endangered species and it is grouped under the red list. Earlier Palmyra seeds were being used for making chain, buttons for shirt and this seed has immunity power against several diseases. Tulu language has 17 scripts. Kavi art and Bhithi wall paintings are also endangered art. Long lasting Palmyra leaves were used for manuscripts in the past. Man has caused huge destruction on this earth. Hence Green India vision campaign insists on sowing seeds and growing endangered, endemic plants of greenery across the globe through seed cones for this purpose in each village we want to set up 'Germinate the Wild plants seeds troves named as Hasiru Kanaja/ Hageevu it's a concern to save one and only planet earth, Krishnaiah said.

Prof U C Niranjan, honorary president of Archival center, Dr Raghavendra A, principal of the college, Dr M N Venkatesh, pro counselor, H Shanthara, administrative officer, Manipal Academy of Higher Education and other others were present.
