Bengaluru: False affidavit for election - HC serves summons to Prajwal Revanna

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jul 27: Relating to a case in which Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, has been accused of filing false affidavits when filing nomination for the Lok Sabha election held this year, the high court (HC) served summons seeking personal appearance of the JD(S) MP on Friday July 26.

Former minister and defeated BJP candidate from Hassan constituency A Manju and Devaraje Gowda have filed election petitions against Prajwal Revanna seeking his disqualification from the membership of the Lok Sabha.

Both the petitions were heard by the single judge bench of the HC headed by Justice John Michel D'Cunha. After hearing arguments, the bench ordered service of summons to Prajwal. It adjourned the hearing after instructing Prajwal Revanna to either be present personally or through his lawyer at the hearing to be held on August 19.
