Puttur: Abduction and rape of minor girl – Five arrested

Puttur, Jul 23: Uppinangady police, who had registered a case of abduction and rape of a minor girl, on the basis of complaint by her father on July 17, have traced the girl and arrested five accused in this connection on July 23. 

Chandraksha (25) from Ilantila village, Sandeep Kumar(23) from Uruvalu village, Harshendra(24) from Kaniyoor village, Lava Kumar(27), from Nalodi Kaniyoor village and Lakshmisha(24) from Shishila village are the arrested persons. 

The accused, upon questioning by police, revealed that Chandraksha, Sandeep, Harshendra, Lava Kumar, Lakshmisha and another suspect Mithun had given the telephone number of the girl to one another. They individually contacted the girl on different occasions and raped her in various places and there was no gang rape. 

All the accused were produced in the court and remanded to judicial custody.

    The very statement that she is minor means any sex with her is rape, as there is no concept of consent when it comes to being a minor.
    How and why she went to the guys is secondary . ( I assume as she was blackmailed under the pretext of her video).
    Let us not judge the minor morally, instead pray for her to face life and to stand up for herself which she could not do so long.

    As much as the accused are to be blamed , so is the victim . She should have raised the alarm very first time . Were did abduction take place ? Looks like a story from a movie !

    This is second such issue in Puttur. It is shocking. The problem is not with girls or their dresses. The problem is seriously with boys and men who have dirty mind set about girls and women. South Kanara was a city of Educated and hospitality class of people but now it is not.

    shame on these accused ones.Only characterlose people will do this.They dont respect their mother or a sister at home ?And would accept it when someone did it to their own relatives?shameless .Put them life long in jail or send them to Border to comedown from their charbi.ill minded.They should pay compansation to the girl..
