Mumbai, Jul 23: Suresh Nunaje (48), who owned Swadist Restaurant at Karama, Dubai, was found dead in Thane district in the outskirts of the metro. The police said that he was murdered.
It is learnt that Suresh from the city owned a bungalow at Sahapur taluk, Thane district. He was staying there since the last some days. It is gathered that someone gained entry into the bungalow of Munaje by cutting open the grills of the window on Friday night. The intruders bound the limbs of Nunaje, who was alone at the time, with clothes. They reportedly tortured him till he breathed his last, before fleeing.
The police were informed after a maid saw the body of Nunaje in the bungalow on Saturday. The police found a number of injury marks on his body. The mortal remains were sent for postmortem, and the report is awaited.
The police have registered a case of murder and house breaking. They have launched a probe into this death and are hopeful of arresting the accused soon.
Swadist Restaurant is a well known vegetarian restaurant in Karama in Dubai.
