Belagavi, Jul 22: In a heartless and inhuman act, a girl child was thrown out of the running train near Londa of Khanapura in the district. Fortunately, some farmers, who heard the cries of the injured child, saved it.
Police are suspecting that the child must have been thrown when the train was passing by the thick forests that are situated between Londa and Akrali.
The area where the child was thrown receives heavy rain during the monsoon season. The farmers who were going by the spot rescued the girl child when they heard its cries. One among them immediately informed the matter to zilla panchayat member Baburao Desai. Later the matter was appraised to railway minister for state Suresh Angadi. In addition, the matter was brought to the notice of railway officials also.
The railway police admitted the child to the district hospital.
