Bengaluru, Jul 22: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of IMA Mohammed Mansoor Khan, who is the main accused in the multi-crore Ponzi scheme scam, was admitted to the ICU of Jayadeva hospital in the city on the night of Sunday, July 21 as he complained of chest pain.
Khan was initially taken to the Victoria hospital but was later taken to Jayadeva hospital as per the advice of the doctors of Victoria hospital as they could not find any irregularities in his heart when he was subjected to electrocardiogram test. There was high security around Mansoor Khan when he was taken to the hospital.
According to the sources at Jayadeva hospital Khan had taken a CT angiogram test a year ago and he was under cardiac medication since then. Dr C N Manjunath, director of Jayadeva hospital said that Mansoor Khan is presently being monitored in the ICU for any abnormalities. Further tests on him will be carried out on Monday.
Mansoor Khan is under the custody of Enforcement Directorate till July 23. He was arrested at Delhi airport on July 19 and subsequently brought to Bengaluru. The company I Monetary Advisory (IMA), which Khan founded in 2006 under the much publicized Halal investment plan is alleged to have taken more than 50,000 investors for a ride to the tune of thousands of crores.
