Puttur, Jul 22: Shilpa Shetty is all set to make her Coastalwood debut with Roopesh Shetty and Rakesh Kadri directorial 'Girgit'.
Shilpa Shetty hails from Puttur is the daughter of Vasanth and Yashodha Shetty. Before making her Coastalwood debut, Shilpa worked in Kannada television serial ‘Eradu Kanasu’ where she shared screen with veteran actor Srinath and Sudha Belwadi. She is also seen in another serial ‘Raja Rani’ serial which is telecasted in Colors Super.
After working in television series, Shilpa received an offer to star in Kannada film ‘Neuron’ directed by Vikas Pushpagiri which is a science fiction film and '100' directed by Ramesh Aravind which is yet to be released.
Shilpa Shetty will play the lead opposite Roopesh Shetty in ‘Girgit’ which is expected to release in the month of August.
Speaking to Daijiworld.com, Shilpa Shetty said, "I started dreaming of becoming an actress since my school days. I joined Sahyadri College of Engineering, but wanted to be an actress and not an engineer. Several things were running through my mind to fulfill my dreams of becoming an actress. One fine day, I quit Engineering and shifted to Bengaluru. Before my first project, I had given close to 15 auditions. Pradeep Belwadi roped me in for the serial ‘Eradu Kanasu. It was a great to share screen with Srinath and Sudha Belwadi.
“Kannada film ‘100’ is all about cybercrime. We notice these days how people are becoming the victims of cybercrimes. Ramesh Aravind is playing the lead as well as directing the film. I play the role of a cop. It was indeed a dream come true to work with Ramesh Aravind with '100',” she said.
Regarding her experience working with veteran actor Srinath, Shilpa said, “It was amazing to work with veteran actor Srinath. He used to guide me throughout and kept motivating me.
“I always wanted to work in a Tulu movie. I am thankful to Roopesh Shetty for giving me an opportunity to act in ‘Girgit’.
“There was criticism, but I was never bother too much. I was always focused on my goals. I was always confident that I can achieve my dream. Never be bothered about people who demoralise you. If you have a dream, chase it and work to fulfill it. If you want to succeed, nobody can stop you from achieving your goal,” she said.
