Mangaluru, Jul 22: It came to light on Sunday July 21 morning that an associate professor in a private dental college at Deralakatte near here had met with unnatural death. The deceased was Dr Nagesh Kumar (35), son of Laxman Manjunath from Sirsi.
Dr Kumar was working in the oral radiology department. He had attended to his duties on Saturday and returned to the quarters allotted him in the said campus. When hospital staff reached his quarters to clean on Saturday morning, they found that the door was not open. They suspected that there might have left home for some work as they knew that the college had holiday on Saturday, and returned.
On Saturday evening, Dr Nagesh's father called his son's colleagues to inform them that his son was not receiving telephone calls since Friday night. The colleagues then visited Dr Kumar's quarters on Sunday morning but the door was locked from inside. They informed Ullal police station about this strange phenomenon. When the door was broken open in the presence of security staff and Ullal police, Nagesh was found lying on the cot with foamy saliva around his lips.
Reason for the death would come out one postmortem report is received.
A case of unnatural death was registered in Ullal police station.
