Bantwal: Car rams into LPG tanker - Four killed

Bantwal, Jul 19: In a ghastly accident that occurred on the morning of Friday, July 19, four people died on the spot when their car collided with a LPG tanker.

There were 11 persons in the car including the driver, all residents of Bhatkal.

Other 7 persons sustained injuries.

Govind, Padmavathi, Nagaraj, and Ganesh were killed in the deadly mishap. Others who suffered injuries were admitted to various hospitals in the city. 

Eleven passengers were in the Tavera car who were the members of the same family from Bhatkal. The car was coming from Bengaluru, while the tanker was approaching from Mangaluru. 

The collision took place near the Brahmarakootlu toll gate. 

Traffic is thrown out of gear due to this accident. Bantwal traffic police have reached the spot and are trying to clear the traffic jam.

    It is sad to note such a ghastly accident. It is not stated as what was the actual cause of the accident. All that can now be said is that it is an accident.

    Terrible.. Govinds entire family, wife 2 kids gone. Worst part is the car driver overspeeding on wrong way is not even injured. How many more lifes these rogues will take?

    It's unfortunate that such an accident took place on a clear two way highway, but I think there is a diversion somewhere after the toll gate which might be the accident spot!

    The Traffic Authorities here are more bothered about busses not stopping at the stop mentioned. Worried about parking. No value is given for continuous monitoring of traffic. No speed breakers at the required spot.

    how can they put speed breakers on highways,we cant blame police for each and everything , overspeeding in a wrong side this s the fault of the driver not the police department.
