Mangaluru, Jul 18: Krish N Suvarna (8), a student, studying in the third standard of private school at Urwa in the city died of dengue fever on Tuesday, July 16.
Krish was admitted to a private hospital of the city due to high fever. He died on the afternoon of Tuesday. The public are suspecting that he died of dengue fever. However, the officials of the district health department are denying this fact.
Dr Navin Kumar, district malaria control officer clarified that the death of the young boy occurred due to infection in the muscles of the heart and not due to dengue.
Dr Naveen Kumar also said that there is no need to panic. More than 100 people are admitted to private and government hospitals in the district for suspected dengue fever and all are recovering.
Teams of Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) will visit all the houses under city corporation limits in coming days. This teams will be assisted by students of more than 10 colleges of the city. These teams will give information to the citizens about the destruction of mosquitoes and symptoms of dengue fever.
