Mangaluru, Jul 17: “We are confident of proving the majority in trust vote and our coalition government is stable,” said district in-charge minister U T Khader.
Addressing the media here on Wednesday, July 17, U T Khader said, "Coalition government is like a family. The trust vote will be carried out. We are confident of proving majority on the floor of the assembly and our government will not be toppled.”
“The chief minister has asked the permission for the trust vote for which the speaker has given the permission, everyone has a chance to express their opinion and discussion will be held,” he said.
Khader also said, "There is good news for the police department. The long-pending demand of them is fulfilled as the government has given the police a hike in salary. The government has accepted the Auradkar committee report with regards to the hike in salary of the police personnel.”
With regards to the tollgate issue, U T Khader said, "The central government and ministry of highways need to take the initiative to come up with a permanent solution for the tollgate issue. We have discussed the matter with the PWD chief secretary and have asked NHAI to give a detailed report of it. We have asked the deputy commissioner to collect the concession document agreement from the NHAI and look in to it and implement it as per the agreement.”
“PWD department has asked for the detailed report. Once the report arrives, decision will be taken. Suratkal tollgate is totally unscientific. Suratkal tollgate was formed, before the construction of Hejmady tollgate, with the intention of merging it with the Hejmady tollgate, once its construction was over. However now, even after the formation of the Hejmady tollgate, the Suratkal tollgate is continuing to function, which is wrong.
“We will also seek permission to take delegation to Delhi, in order to hold meeting with the officials of NHAI and ministers to discuss on the ongoing highway issues," said Khader.
