Udupi, Jul 17: Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math here met Prime Minister (PM), Narendra Modi, at the residence of the latter at New Delhi on Tuesday July 16. The PM, who came out of his residence, personally held the hands of the Swamiji and led him into the house. During the visit, the two held discussions on various important aspects, it is learnt.
The Swamiji said that the interaction between the two went on from 4.30 pm to 5 pm during which the PM extended warm welcome to him, and expressed contentment at the unprecedented support extended by the people of the country to programmes he undertook during the last five years. The Swamiji added that he conveyed to the PM that his prayers are with the latter.
"I conveyed my positive opinion about the initiatives on construction of Ram Mandir at the birthplace of Lord Ram and also the progress of Ganga purification plan. He welcomed my opinions and conveyed his wishes. I will give more information about the meeting after reaching Bengaluru," the Swamiji said.
The Swamiji had left behind his walking stick outside the residence of the PM. The PM who had come out to welcome the Swamiji held his hand firmly and led him inside, personal assistant to the Swamiji said, adding that the Swamiji presented an idol of Lord Krishna coupled with aureole to the PM on the occasion.
