Mangaluru, Jul 16: Vice-chancellor of Mangalore University Dr P S Yadapadithaya inaugurated the two-day district youth parliament here at district zilla panchayat office on Tuesday, July 16, organized by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, United Nations Development Programme and Nehru Yuva Kendra.
Addressing the gathering, Dr P S Yadapadithaya said, “Everyone has the power, but power should be used to help people and not to harm them. Youth power should be demonstrated in the right way to take this nation forward. Youth should remember some of the C’s to shape your personality such as courage, confidence, conviction, co-operation, coordination, collaboration, commitment, conscience and consultation. You can always be great in parliament if you have purpose and pride.”
Zilla panchayat CEO Dr R Selvamani said, “Youths need to be aware of parliament, Constitution, and other fundamental rights. Parliament is the ultimate forum where you can raise your voice for problems and find solution. This is a wonderful opportunity for youths to make use of this parliament.”
