Bantwal, Jul 15: Bantwal Credit Cooperative Society is obliged to protect the welfare of the customers while extending cooperation to them, said society president B Ramanath Rai.
He was speaking after presiding over the inauguration of Bantwal Credit Cooperative Society at Jodumarga, B C Road on Monday, July 15.
“The Society has been opened by likeminded people with an aim to help people. The society will be extended to village areas in the future. It will function as per to the guidelines of cooperative societies and will respond to the aspirations and economic needs of people in Bantwal taluk,” Rai said.
“Bank’s advisory committee members Prakash Karanth, B H Khader, Madhav Mave, vice president Mayilappa Salian, chief executive Baby Kunder, managing committee director Chandraprakash Shetty Thumbay, Padmashekar Jain, M S Mohammed, Sudarshan Jain, B M Abbas Ali, Manjula Madhava Mave, Vani Prakash Karanth, Pius L Rodrigues, Narayan Nayak, Alphons Menezes, Ammu and Arbigudde will perform the functions,” said Rai.
Cooperative Society’s district assistant manager, B K Saleem said that Bantwal has provided good contribution towards cooperative sector. “An excellent board of directors is necessary to gain customer trust and it can be seen in this society,” he said.
Kukke Subrahmanya temple managing committee president Nithyananda Mundodi said that people from different backgrounds will benefit when cooperatives join together.
Bank director, Sudharshan Jain, in his introductory address said that the society is formed by knowing the pulse of the people and there is good response on the first day itself. “SB account facilities have begun and pigmy accounts will be opened soon,” he said.
Chief executive officer, Baby Kunder, who welcomed the gathering, gave details of the bank and said that 608 members have already joined and 8 lac shares have been collected. “Customers coming forward for fixed deposits are an indication that the bank will progress,” he said.
Tulu Sahitya Academy president A C Bhandary, SCDCC bank director Ekkaru Manappa Shetty, cooperative society’s development officer Triveni, advisory committee member B H Khader, Prakash Karanth, board of directors and members were present.
Director and zilla panchayat member Chandraprakash Shetty Thumbay welcomed the gathering. Director M S Mohammed rendered vote of thanks. H K Nayanadu compered the programme.
The computer locker system was inaugurated earlier. Billava Samaja Seva Sangha taluk president Sesappa Kotian was present. First fixed deposit receipt, first SB account book and share certificate were issued. Building construction engineer Santhosh who worked in the building was honoured.
