I was the guest daily at his hotel from 1975 to 1990. His hotel used to open at 5 am daily seven days a week. You could see a huge crowd at the entrance of his hotel for a cup of tasty coffee/ tea. If it would be later to open the public would bang at his shutters. The Doctor , the paper vendor, the drivers, morning walkers, the train passengers and the rest would wait with newspaper in hand. It was a self service counter and the only one in Mangaluru. There was also a huge rush towards the cash counter for coupons. Madhav Shenoy every morning would be behind the food counter to supervise the operation. Soft spoken with serious look he used to see his guest satisfied. He is no more but his service to us is unforgettable. May his soul rest in peace.
