Mangaluru, Jul 14: In a shocking incident, which occurred due to dereliction of duty and lack of seriousness of the prison officials, two murder accused persons were released on bail, even though the court did not give bail to them.

Shivaji, a resident of Kadri George Martis Road and Jagadish, a resident of Kandettu, Bikarnakatte, both accused in the murder case of Rohit Kotian, who was killed near KSRTC bus stand, Bejai in the city on May 15, 2016 are the ones who were released by the prison officials without the bail from court.

Court had served notice to both the accused. The jailers mistook this as order of bail from the court and released the accused on July 9 after getting permission from the jail superintendent. Before releasing, all the procedures that are followed in the prison were followed.

The accused had gone to their lawyer after their release from the prison. The lawyer, who got astonished by the presence of both the accused in his office, brought the mishap to the notice of the court immediately. Later the jail officials went to the houses of the released accused and arrested them again.
