Puttur, Jul 12: Coastal region is known for producing talents, as lots of young and promising models have emerged and achieved greater heights in the film industry.
Similarly a young, promising talent Nikitha Dorthody, hailing from Uppinangady is all set to make her mark in the glamour world. Nikitha is the proud daughter of Darnappa Dorthody and Sukanya S, alumni of SJCE Mysuru.
Nikitha Dorthody will be making her debut in the Kannada movie ‘Bharatha Bahubali’ directed by Manju Mandavya. Nikitha plays the pivotal role of a psychiatrist in the movie.
“The experience I gained after working with Director Manju mandavya has given me enough knowledge on each and every minute aspect of film-making,” says Nikitha Dorthody.
Nikitha has also stepped onto the small screen through the Kannada serial ‘Sathyam Shivam Sundaram’, which is being telecast in Star Suvarna channel. Nikitha plays the role of Teena, who is a bold and outspoken girl, who conceives life in her own way yet makes sure nobody around her gets hurt because of her lifestyle.
“I play the love interest of Sundar, third son among three brothers belonging to the Arasu family. She is funny at times and furious too, yet full of life,” says Nikitha giving outlines of her role in the Kannada serial.
Speaking about the serial, Nikitha said, "I got selected to the serial through A2 casting house Bengaluru run by Prabhu R Methi. This serial is a saga of three brothers belonging to the Royal Arasu family. There are certain values, principles, emotions and set of rules that has been imposed on the family members which are acquired from generation to generation. The gist is how the family upholds these values despite going through roller-coaster ride of various situations that would destabilize the unity and integrity of the Arasu legacy. The serial is a mixture of funny moments, family values and perfect drama. I would like to acknowledge Manishanth, my director and my writers for their crisp writing which has captivated the audience for more than 550+ episodes.”
When asked about her dream role, Nikitha said, "I wish every role I portray, would be my dream role. To answer the question, my dream role would be something that evokes quality thinking, ignites idealistic tendency and reciprocates the love towards life and very existence.”
She also said, "As an actor I don't differentiate between small screen and big-screen. Big screen of course offers you an opportunity to get exposed to larger population. But that is confined only to cine goers who are exclusively interested to enjoy the film in a theatrical setup whose percentage is less compared to small- screen (serial) audience. Ultimate goal is to showcase and reach out to the maximum audience in every possible way.”
When asked about her acting interest, Nikitha said, "As a child I was just fascinated about music and I was enjoying dancing to the musical beats. Apparently my passion towards acting took its shape (as I have understood) when I learnt Bharathanatyam for three years and odd during my early childhood. Co-incidentally the appreciation that were soaring in for any of my performances left a strong impact and would motivate me to do better and more.”
