Mangalore, May 27: Outgoing Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat president K P Sucharita Shetty expressed satisfaction about his performance during the last 20 months in office. "I have done my duty diligently and honestly," he added. He was addressing the gathering at a programme organized at the zilla panchayat premises here on Tuesday May 26, to bid farewell to both ZP president Shetty and vice president Jayashree Kodandoor, who are set to lay down office today.
"With the support of all the zilla panchayat members, we could undertake various development programmes. All the members have expressed concern for the welfare of the people here and their honesty and earnestness have always been the guiding force of achievements. I hope that this tradition will be continued," he said. He also thanked the officials for standing up to his expectations.
Outgoing vice president Jayashree Kondandoor too conveyed her gratitude to all the people who cooperated with her during her tenure in the office.
Standing committee chairman Venkat Dambekody felicitated Sucharita Shetty while MLA B Ramanath Rai honoured Jayashree Kodandoor. On the occasion, deputy director of animal husbandry department Dr Narasimha Murty, who has been transferred out of the district, was honoured by MLA K Abhaychandra Jain.
MLAs U T Khader, Abhaychandra Jain, zilla panchayat members, taluk panchayat president Ramachandra Kumpala etc extended best wishes and paid tributes to the outgoing president and vice president of the zilla panchayat on the occasion.
