#MeToo sexual harassment case - Tanushree to file protest petition against Nana Patekar

Mumbai, Jul 7 (IANS) : In less than a month after the Mumbai Police filed a closure report in the alleged #MeToo sexual harassment case lodged by Tanushree Dutta against actor Nana Patekar, the actress will now file protest petition against the actor's clean chit in the case.

Tanushree has opposed the B-Summary report filed by the Oshiwara police station. She was represented by advocate Nitin Satpute at Railway Mobile Court in Andheri here.

"The court has granted her time to file a protest petition against the B-Summary report. Tanushree's legal team was present, but not a single officer from the Oshiwara police station was in the court room at the time of hearing. The case has been adjourned to September 7," Satpute told IANS on Sunday.

In June, Mumbai Police spokesperson, Deputy Commissioner of Police Manjunath Shinge had told IANS: "Yes, we have filed a B-Summary Report before the court."

The police move came after they reportedly did not find enough evidence in the matter, virtually ending the case as they cannot continue further investigations.

Satpute had said that they would challenge the police move in the matter.

The actress had lodged the complaint against Nana in September 2018 accusing him of allegedly sexually harassing her over a decade ago, in 2008 during a shoot, but he had stoutly denied the charges levelled by her.

    One is responsible for oneself...

    ...

“Dear children! Understand that if you want to be saved, you must wait for your Lord as vigilant virgins. You cannot hide from Me. All your thoughts, words, actions have been recorded before you face Me. When Eve and Adam sinned, they hid themselves, but they did not know I had seen them. When Cain killed Abel, he also hid himself, but I saw and called him. Even those who live in sin try to hide from Me, but eventually they all come to light and give Me an account of their lives, because every person at the end of life has a separate judgment. They are not responsible for the mistakes of others, but are for their wrongdoings ― one is responsible for oneself ― and I will only judge his or her life and actions.”

“Those who take my doctrine and turn it to action will be very happy at the Great Warning, which won’t wait long for you. They will see the good things they have done and their good example of life.”

When you lose your job and have no money to enjoy you tend to disturb the peace of successful people out of jealousy.
Nana was her soft target as she has worked with him.
She is a loser in life.
    I support #MenToo

You know why would a budding actress walk out of a movie, which could end her career? It is just dignity and standing for self.
If she is a failure, vultures like Nana are responsible for it.

I don't believe in this story as it has come out after good 10 years.
Had she reported this immediately after quitting the Industry it would have sounded truth.
There is no point in treating the wound which is already healed with time, if there was any wound.

These are all stunts to grab the lime light to make a comeback or to tarnish the image due to some personal enmity.
She was not a budding new actress but had delivered half a dozen flop films.
In Bollywood talent speaks not fake #MeToo drama.

The victim shaming culture we have in India is highly absurd. Be it 10 years or 20, when a victim comes forward with his/her side of the story, the least you and I can do is be sympathetic and listen to them instead of shaming them. Moreover, the victim needs to muster a lot of courage to bring the situation out in the open. Every abuser needs to be punished and should not be allowed to ride on the high horse.

Why all such incidents are coming to light after so many years ?
Why they were quiet at the time of any such bad incidents took place ?
What benefit they will get going to courts and spending on law suits. ?

    Sir,
Tanushree has not raked up the issue now. She protested and marched off from the movie though she was aware of the fact that it could end her film career. Police did not take her complaint then. No one wanted to touch Nana who was at peak then.
Tanushree was young and timid then, now she has matured. She can understand what these kind of wolves can do to other girls with their power of fame and power of wealth. She might not personally benefit anything from this, but could definitely send a warning to all other actors of 'similar mentality'.

If guilty, even one wins the case that guilt always haunts leads to sickness of mind and body depend upon severity of the crime or hurt, better always try to reconcile or compensate instead of dying within. How long one suffers for that God only knows.
