Kundapur, Jul 7: A teacher of Beejadi Padu government higher primary school, who beat a student black and blue, will be transferred and a report will be sent to the higher authorities about the incident. This information was given to the parents of the children and the local villagers by the zonal educational officer Ashok Kamath. Only after this assurance by the concerned officer did the matter got resolved amicably.
This decision was taken at a special meeting that was held in the school on Saturday. Earlier, the parents of students of the school and local villagers urged the zonal educational officer to transfer all the teachers of the school. The zonal education officer clarified that he does not have the authority to take such a drastic action. However, the concerned officer told the villagers and parents that he will appraise the higher authorities to take necessary action on the physical education teacher, who beat the boy severely and also inform the same to child protection unit and SDMC.
Deputy commissioner (DC) Hephsiba Rani said that complete report on the assault on the student will be sought by the school and suitable action will be taken against the erring teacher.
