Bengaluru: IMA scam – Govt official held for allegedly receiving Rs 4.5 crore bribe

Bengaluru, Jul 6: The special investigation team (SIT) probing IMA scam arrested assistant commissioner of Bengaluru North L C Nagaraj, here on Friday, July 5. This is being considered as a major breakthrough in the case.

Nagaraj allegedly received a bribe of Rs 4.5 crore to submit a report favourable to I Monetary Advisory (IMA), despite an alert issued by Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

Nagaraj is the first government official to be arrested in connection with the case for allegedly facilitating the scam.

As per sources, Nagaraj was the competent authority entrusted with the task of investigating IMA, after RBI highlighted the irregularities of the firm. Though Nagaraj had issued a public notice seeking complaints against IMA from the public, subsequently he also submitted a report stating that there were no irregularities committed by the firm.

Nagaraj allegedly received bribe of Rs 4.5 crore from IMA for this favour.

    Looks like Government officials who executed the will of the elected representatives will made a scapegoat. These officials are enablers, but will not do it without the blessing or pressure from the politicians. All politicians who promoted this halal method of earning higher returns must be properly investigated and taken to court with foolproof evidence so that such abuse of electorates in the name of religion will stop once and for all.
    If investors are indeed willing to take risk, they better invest in stock markets wherein "high risk, high return" stocks are available rather than falling for the designs of crooked politicians.

    The kingpins will never be caught... These investigators are merely trying to find a scapegoat, to calm the fury of these duped, foolish investors... Public have short memories, few days later another scam will blowup n another investigation team setup.... These stupid investors will not get one single rupee !!! Moral of the story... Never get influenced to temptation like greed, lust, power n fame... nor get aroused by religious emotions...it will only lead you to your grave.... Stay wise n moveon !!!!

    By just submitting report a govt. official fetch Rs.4.5 crores. It's what educated people are doing using there power. If he done any investigation done in propper way at least poor people's money secured in large.
