New Delhi, Jul 5: A progress review meeting of highways within Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency limits was held under the leadership of union minister for road transport and highways, Nitin Gadkari, union minster for fertilizers, D V Sadananda Gowda, and Dakshina Kannada MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel, at the residence of the minister for road transport and highways, a press release from Dakshina Kannada MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel, stated.
The meeting reviewed progress in converting national highway 75 between B C Road and Addahole into four lane, four-laning of national highway between Kulshekhar and Karkala via Moodbidri, four-lane works on road between Mangaluru city bypass - Mulky - Kinnigoli - Moorukavaeri - Kateel, - Polali cross - Addur - Kalpane - B C Road - Panemangalore and Thokkottu. The total length of these rods is 136.2 km. The meeting also reviewed progress in Pumpwell flyover work on national highway 66.
Director general of national highways department I K Pandey, chief engineer, Vijay Kumar, member, R K Pandey, and National Highways Authority of India official, Alok Dipankar, were present.
For speeding up the land acquisition process that has moving at snail's pace now, the union minister for highways asked a meeting of state government officials and national highway officials to be held under the leadership of D V Sadananda Gowda during next month at Bengaluru.
