Disappointed McGrath may not Play in Next IPL

Centurion, May 22 (IANS) : Australian bowling legend Glenn McGrath has expressed disappointment on being left out by his team, Delhi Daredevils, in the ongoing Indian Premier League and said he might not play in the next edition.

McGrath, who was brilliant with the ball in the last season, did not get a single match during the league stage this year.

While MacGrath is contracted to play one more season for Delhi, he now says it seems unlikely that he will take part in the 2010 season, which would surely have been the last competitive cricket he plays.

"I am contracted for another year with Delhi, but that is a long way away," he said in a  newspaper column.

"Right now, I would not bet on myself returning."

McGrath said he was disappointed for not been allowed to prove his fitness.

"It has been hard to be a part of the bench, and I was hoping for a game during the league stage," he wrote.

"I have asked a couple of people about why I was not being played, and I get the sense that they were worried about my fitness.

"I feel fitter than I did last year, but I guess I will not get a chance to prove that now."

Only four foreigners are allowed in the team and Victorian left-armer pacer Dirk Nannes has played almost every game for the Daredevils.

The 39-year-old McGrath had taken 14 wickets in 11 matches last year.
