Udupi, Jul 2: Milagres Centre for Career Excellence supported by National IAS Academy opened a new computer lab at Milagres College, Kallianpur. Udupi diocese bishop Rev Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo inaugurated the lab and blessed the premises and Anil Prakash Castelino, the campus administrator held prayer service on Monday, July 1.
“Today a dream has been realized. The mission 2025 started in 2015 and efforts are still on to achieve the goals. Education is one of the 18 commissions of the diocese. Just five years ago, we dreamed of opening a career excellence centre here for the future leaders of this country. This is the right time to take future decision and to dream about career. The teachers are the guiding force. One should have a unique dream or vision. That brings one awards and rewards,” the bishop said in his inaugural address.
“For an unwilling person, no one can help. But if he is determined to learn, then no one will stop you,” said the bishop by quoting the lines of a great poet.
“Our goal is to make the students professionally competent, morally upright, socially conscious leaders, who will make a difference first in their life and then in the society. A man should have 99% perseverance (hard work) to achieve success and 1% inspiration. There is no short cut for success. Just put your plan into action today and put hard work to implement your vision. Do not wait for tomorrow,” he added.
“Anybody can attempt competitive exams, though he is average in academic performance. Those who have will to achieve success, need to believe in themselves,” Dr Lobo concluded.
Dr Lawrence D'Souza, correspondent of Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur said, “Today the admissions at Milagres have gone up because of this new project. It is responsibility of management to provide infrastructure to the students. The students will come out as aspirants of UPSC or KPSC exams.” He urged the students to make use of benefits provided in College.
Director of National IAS Academy Sunil B N said, “We started a legacy by opening MCCE here. There is need to add value in education. Students of this institution will be IAS aspirants in next three years. Let us make use of education, knowledge and not waste time.”
The coaching will be provided for competitive exams like UPSC, KPSC, IAS, IPS, IFS, KAS, SSC, RRB, Banking, CDS, CAPF, ACIO, PSI, PDO, FDA, SDA, IT, Customs and Excise department by subject experts.
BA Nagesh, former civil servant, Advk Bun, retired professor from Andhra University, Sumanth, director, National IAS Academy were present.
Vincent Alva, principal of the college extended the welcome and Principal of PU Milagres College Savitha Hebbar proposed vote of thanks.
Prof Joseph Peter Fernandes compered the programme.
