Sullia, May 21: "My firm belief is that my victory from Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha seat is not mine, but of Hindutva," said newly elected member of parliament Nalin Kumar Kateel.
He was addressing a thanksgiving programme for the voters, organized near the local bus stand on Wednesday May 20. Earlier in the day, Kateel was led in a victory procession that started from Lal Bahadur Shastri Circle in the city to Gandhi Nagar.
"I will treat every one equally. Development will be the only goal for me in the coming days. I am committed to meet the promises made to my voters," he declared.
Maintenance of peace, harmony besides maintaining law and order in the district, and achieving development through well-conceived plans would be on top of the agenda, he added. Nalin revealed that he chose to start his victory march from Sullia, as it happens to be his birth place and the region where he got the highest lead in the election.
MLA S Angara, Karnataka Development Corporation chairman S N Manmatha, BJP block committee president A V Teertharam etc addressed the audience. Taluk panchayat president Pushspavati, vice president Shankar Peraje, zilla panchayat members Venkat Dambekody, Bhagirati, Satish Naik and various other leaders were present.
