Bantwal: Cancer screening camp held at Infant Jesus School, Modankap

Bantwal, Jul 1: A cancer screening and medical camp was held at the Infant Jesus School premise at Modankap, Bantwal on Sunday, June 30.

The camp was organised in association with the Father Muller Medical College and Hospital, the Indian Cancer Society (NGO) and the B R Shetty and C R Shetty Foundation. The services provided were cancer screening of breast, cervix and the oral cavity.

Dr Sandesh Rao, department of Oncology, FMMCH, was the liaison officer who coordinated the workings with departments of Medicine, OBGYN, Surgery, Oncology and the allied health staff. Around 133 people were screened and suspected cases were referred to Father Muller’s for further examination.



 

The department of medicine, provided consultations and medicines for the needful with ECG and blood sugar monitoring.
