Mangalore, May 21: Two of the key accused in the murder of gangster Panduranga Pai alias Pandu Pai were arrested and produced in court here on Wednesday May 20.
Bejai Raja alias Shailesh, resident of Bejai, and Yashodhara Shetty, resident of Katipalla, are the two who were produced in court.
Three of those arrested earlier in this case had provided police with information about these two during interrogation. A car has also been seized from the accused.
District Crime and Intelligence Bureau (DCIB) inspector Venkatesh Prasanna said, “The two accused are involved in the murder of Pandu Pai. They had invited him for a discussion with the intention of killing him. Being a friend of the murdered gangster, they first offered him liquor and after he had lost his senses, they killed him. The motive behind the murder is their personal rivalry”, he said adding that Bejai Raja was the mastermind of this murder.
Pai’s body was found near Kankanady Railway Station on Monday May 11 after he was murdered.
