Bengaluru, Jun 28: There is information that the police teams entrusted with the task of handling IMA scam involving thousands of people and over a thousand of crore in terms of money, have been able to establish contact with Mansoor Khan, alleged to be the kingpin of the said scam. It is said that the police are likely to take him into custody within a week and the police are busy drawing up modalities for bringing Khan to the city and to arrest him.
The city police have established contact with the police of Ras-Al-Khaimah in UAE. They hope to complete legal formalities connected with deportation of Khan to India. Mansoor will be accompanied by two officials on his journey to the city.
As soon as the IMA case echoed in the Lok Saba, the union government began diplomatic processes to bring Khan back to India. It may be recalled that in a video he uploaded, Khan had expressed his wish to come back to India if the government assures his safety as he is afraid for his life back. He had also requested city police commissioner here, Alok Kumar to contact him on Whats App.
It was well known since some days that Mansoor Khan is hiding in the Gulf region. Several heads including those of high and mighty, are expected to roll once the instigation into the scam begins. Whether that will happen or not is a million dollar question which has answer only in the future. What will happen to thousands of people who have invested in IMA is another thing for which too there is no ready answer.
