Bantwal, Jun 27: In a case of incest reported from Pilatabettu village in Bantwal taluk, a man reportedly raped his minor daughter. The girl in course of time, became pregnant.

On the basis of the complaint filed by the 15-year-old girl, a case sands registered in Punjalkatte police station under the provisions of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. The police arrested the accused, identified as Ismail, on Wednesday June 26 night.

The girl lives with her parents, a younger brother, and a younger sister. At night, her younger siblings used to sleep with the parents while she slept alone in another room.

At midnight on February 8 this year, when everyone else was sound asleep, the father silently entered the room where his elder daughter was sleeping, and raped her, it is said. Reportedly, when the girl shouted for help, he shut her mouth forcibly and forcibly developed physical relationship. Even thereafter he used to coerce her into submitting to his carnal desires several times. As a result, the girl became pregnant, the complainant has alleged.
