Bantwal, Jun 27: Former minister Ramanath Rai is elected as the president of Bantwal Credit Cooperative society, which will come into existence newly, centered at B C Road of the taluk.
In the election that was held on Wednesday, June 26, Rai was elected unanimously. Mayilappa was elected as the vice-president. Zilla panchayat member Chandraprakash Shetty, Padmashekhar Jain, M S Mohammed, Manjula Mave, taluk panchayat vice-president Abbas Ali, Bubank president Sudarshan Jain, Pius Rodrigues, Alphonse Menezes, Narayan Naik, Ammu Arbigudde and Vaniprakash were elected as the directors.
Triveni, officer of the cooperative societies was the election officer. The new office building of the credit coop society will come into existence soon in the Congress Bhavan building of B C Road. This society, which will begin under the leadership of Ramanath Rai, has plans of opening various branches in the district as per the information given by Baby Kunder, president of Bantwal block Congress.
