Mumbai, May 17: It was indeed an out-of-the-world experience for the students of Ryan International School, Vasant Kunj, who got a first hand experience at Johnson Space Centre, Houston, through the space school programme.

Another experience for Ryan students was taking learning beyond the confines of the classroom as is the vision of Ryan Group of Institutions chairman Augustine Pinto and managing director Grace Pinto.

They were a bunch of 21 anxious children who wanted to know more about space and means of exploring space.

At NASA, the students were introduced to rocket science, presentation, training of astronauts, project work, rocket building and launching, designing of Mars Rover, and building of International Space Station.

Interaction with space scientists, and NASA experts such as space suit designer Heather Paul, Design Groups chief engineer Satish Reddy, and chief space scientist Kamlesh Lulla, who shared their views and commitment that led to them to fulfill their dreams.

Besides this, the visit to the launch site at Kennedy Space Centre, Florida, was a dream come true where the preparation was on for Space Shuttle Atlantis that is all set to rocket into space in a few days with five astronauts.

This trip could be a turning point for some students who gained immensely from the experience. Some of them have been inspired to take up space as their career.
