Kundapur, Jun 25: DySP Dinesh Kumar said that there is a provision to register complaint against Construction Company if accidents happen due to unscientific work. He was answering to a question by a member in the 16th ordinary meeting of taluk panchayat held on June 24. “Several people have lost their lives due to lapses. The company has said that they will complete the work by the June 20,” he said.
Member Karuna Poojary criticized about swimming pools constructed by IRB Company. Jyothi Putran urged to assign a policeman near Shastri circle due to dense traffic.
“Action will be taken if more than six children are ferried in auto-rickshaws. Only eight children can be ferried in Omni. If more children than permitted are ferried in school vehicles, RTO will be asked to suspend the driver’s license for three months,” said the DySP.
Member Pushparaj Shetty said that cattle thieves of five cows in Golihole recently are not arrested yet. DySP in response said that special teams are formed to arrest the suspects. “We are inspecting vehicles at check posts and are confiscating suspicious items. The owners of cattle should also keep an eye on cattle left out in the open.” Member Surendra Kharvi said that footage of 18 CC cameras in Gangoli police station limits can also be utilized during investigation of cases.
Member Chandrashekar Shetty requested for action against meter interest business in Shankernarayana police station limits. Member Umesh Shetty Kalgadde warned of protests if maternity doctors are not assigned in Shankernarayana government hospital.
Pravin Kumar Shetty asked if there is a managing committee for temple in Kundapur government hospital premises. Medical administrator Dr Robert Rebello answered that Dr Vijayashanker is the president of the temple. Pravin Shetty urged for investigations into its expenditure.
Repeated absence of officials in the meeting
Karan Poojary complained about repeated absence of officials to the meeting for the last three years and urged for disciplinary action against them. He said that DHO, IRB, KCDC and fisheries department officials are repeatedly remaining absent for the meeting even after writing letters to them.
Failure of administration
Member Jagadish Devadiga said that administration in taluk panchayat is not right. “Grants are not made use of properly. We will not allow to cut four lac grant that comes to taluk panchayat members. There was opposition to give tender for solar lights but the tender is given to outsiders. Solar lights are not installed yet. Give us the instruments, we will install them,” he said.
Put an end to drug mafia
Jyothi V Putran urged for stringent action against drug mafia. DySP answering to it said that wine shops and bars are already warned.
Taluk panchayat president Shamala Kunder presided over the meeting. Vice president Ramkisan Hegde, social justice committee president Narayan K Gujjadi, DySP Dinesh, executive officer Kiran Padnekar and Byndoor tahsildar were present.
