Bengaluru: Moving car catches fire – Miraculous escape for six people

Bengaluru, Jun 24: Six people had a miraculous escape, after the vehicle they were travelling caught fire on Outer Ring Road on Monday evening here. 

According to the HSR Layout police inspector, the six passengers immediately exited the vehicle 'Chevrolet Enjoy' near Agara Lake Junction, when they noticed smoke emanating from the bonnet. In a few minutes the car had caught more fire and other motorists and pedestrians panicked. Traffic was also disrupted due to the fire. 

The fire station was alerted and within 25 minutes the fire was put off. But the car was completely gutted in the fire. 

The inspector said that the car was just three-years-old and the exact reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained. The fire personnel and police are probing the incident.

    This is what happens when vehicle manufacturers compromise on safety and sub standard quality of components & materials they use in building vehicles to keep the prices low to compete with other rivals. Worst is al most 40 - 45% of on road prices of these vehicles goes to the government coffers in the form of GST and Road Tax in Karnataka. More vehicles get burnt and damage beyond repairs means more sales to the manufacturers. Government is worried only about colleting taxes and not on safety of its people.

    before 2014, we hardly used to hear such news. Now it has become common.
    Along with the feku chaiwala PM, even the manufacturers have started producing fake cars with cheap China material, the model of make in India like the Sardar Patel Statue.

    Whatever the reason is ,important is noone is injured and safe .The reason can be many.long drive or lack of water .Car can be bought again,but not persons .

    It's all happening after 2014. Now again after May 24...2019.
    May be in 5yrs it will be a worst scenario. Fake things get fire quickly.
    No safety measures in car. Cars quality is low. Substandard.

    The reason is after market high wattage bulbs. Legal limit is 60w for high beam for halogens and the cans upgrade to 110w. The holder melts, short circuit and fire. Cops should really crack down on the high wattage illegal bulbs.
