Hyderabad, Jun 24: Several incidents surface where people are duped under false claims of getting employment in abroad. Recently, a similar incident took place where a woman from Hyderabad who was promised a job in Kuwait got conned.
The woman has since returned back to India, she thanked the Indian embassy and the Modi government for saving her from the ordeal.
“I would like to thank the Indian Embassy and Modi government for rescuing me from that hell. There are many agents here trying to dupe people. We should not believe anything these agents tell us,” said Rehana Begum.
An agent had approached Rehana and promised her a job in a saloon as a beautician. She was also promised over Rs 30,000 per month. On her arrival in Kuwait, she was employed as a housemaid and was the victim of torture. One fine day, Rehana called her daughter in India and explained her situation. The daughter immediately conveyed her mother’s condition to the Indian embassy who helped in getting Rehana back.
Lately, Indian embassy released a list of around 18 Indian based recruitment agencies who were aiming at conning people with jobs in Kuwait. The list was released after intensive research and observations by the embassy. The list is said to contain agencies from India and also Kuwait.
