Kadaba, Jun 24: Through an order, president of the temple management committee, M Kamalaksha Rai, has dismissed two employees of Goddess Durgaparameshwari temple at Sharavoor in the taluk on the allegation of financial irregularities.
The dismissed employees happen to be N Sridhar Acharya Nagri and Jayanth Kumar Kinnigoli.
The temple management had noticed that the said employees had committed financial irregularities in October and November last year. They also had kept the service counter open and went away without the concurrence of the managing committee.
For computerization of the temple affairs, experts from Ujire had installed software in the temple computers. Sridhar and Jayanth reportedly misused money belonging to the temple by exercising the delete option to erase receipts issued towards money received from the devotees. The temple managing committee had thereafter written to the department of Hindu Charitable Institutions and Endowments department and deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district, seeking permission to hood internal inquiry.
The deputy commissioner had instructed the committee to appoint inquiry officer and take suitable steps. As per the orders, the needful was done and employees were dismissed form service, said temple managing committee president M Kamalaksha Rai.
